Sample Records

The following sample records demonstrate what a typical entry might look like in your database.

A Minimal Record will help you develop an inventory of your holdings even if you are unable to view each tape for complete information. Typically this information is gained from the tape label or tape box label.

A Complete Record is created through item-level cataloging in cases where you are able to view each tape for complete information (such as credits) and add descriptive information about the content, such as assigning subject and genre terms. The Complete Record is hot-linked to the Quick Reference Guide to provide instant explanations of each of the fields.

Data added in any layout will automatically appear in every layout that contains the field in which the information has been entered.
